Sabrina Ullman: Warmer weather heading into the weekend.

Tonight will be partly cloudy with overnight lows ranging from the upper forties to low fifties. Patchy fog is possible after 2am.

Temperatures will increase over the next few days. Areas on the North Shore of Cook County will only reach the upper sixties on Friday, but the rest of the area will have afternoon highs close to 80.

A high-pressure system parked over the Northland will allow dry weather to continue into Friday. Rain chances return this weekend with potential for heavy rain Saturday morning with another round of rain bringing the possibility for hail and strong winds in the evening.

Precipitation chances will continue through Sunday and into Monday. With additional moisture in the region and temperatures in the mid-eighties, this weekend will feel muggy.

A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1pm, then a chance of showers between 1pm and 4pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. Breezy, with a south wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
