Koochiching, Itasca, Aitkin, St. Louis, Carlton, and Pine Counties are all under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 11pm tonight. Damaging winds are the main threat, with gusts up to 75 mph possible. Large hail, with isolated hail of up to 2 inches in diameter is also a risk during this time, and a tornado or two cannot be ruled out.

The line of storms moving through tonight has already produced a severe thunderstorm with radar-indicated hail of two inches in diameter. As the storms move east, portions of Wisconsin could have damaging winds after 11pm.

Once these storms exit the region, areas of fog and low stratus clouds may remain. Gusty westerly winds are likely for Monday, with the possibility of a few lingering showers in northern Minnesota.

A dry stretch will begin Tuesday, lasting at least a few days.
