Justin Liles: Weather ramping up for remainder of week

Widespread rain showers will continue tonight and tomorrow and there is a chance for t-storms, mainly in northwest Wisconsin. Heavy rainfall could cause minor flooding in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin. By Thursday, heavy rain changing to wintry mix/snow, isolated t-storms in northwest Wisconsin. Increasing NE winds. Snow begins over north-central MN.

During this time, freezing rain may accumulate up north in some places from the Iron Range to the International Border. As Friday rolls in a wintry mix turns to all snow, with heavy snowfall accumulations in northern Minnesota. Winds will pick up too, especially in northern Minnesota and may create blowing and drifting snow. By Saturday, there will be colder North-northwest winds. Lingering lake effect snow along the south shore Snow Belt region is likely.

Showers, mainly before 1am. Low around 40. Breezy, with a south wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
