Widespread snow will move from southwest to northeast this evening. Stiff winds off the lake is helping to hold back the snow until later this evening. Once the air around the lake becomes saturated enough the heaviest snowfall is expected along the North Shore and north-central MN. We will likely see some areas of the north shore see the 6” or more of snow. Now because of the winds there is still some uncertainty on amounts, but most areas will likely see 3-6” of snow. Travel conditions will likely deteriorate this evening and likely Wednesday morning.

Temperatures will warm some Wednesday where we might see a wintry mix early in the day. All precipitation will diminish as we go through the day. Skies will look to improve some by the end of the week and into the weekend. By Friday, we should see plenty of sunshine and temperatures this weekend will likely climb into the 40s inland. Lake winds will likely create cooler conditions by the lake. Another chance of light snow returns Sunday into Monday.
