Justin Liles: Snow and wind to diminish tonight

As an area of low pressure continues to exit to the east, lingering snow is likely tonight. Most of the snow will be confined to the south shore and the Snow Belt. Additional heavy snow is likely in these areas. Nearly 6-10” of total snow will fall along the belt. Some areas may see localized higher amounts. Winds will eventually let up some this evening too.

This will improve visibilities and road conditions for most of the region heading into Friday AM. However, Highway 2 east of Ashland still looks slick Friday morning. Cooler air returns Friday as highs stay in the upper teens to low 20s. There is still a chance of some residual moisture being squeezed out in the form of some flurries Saturday. Sunday looks to be the nicest day of the weekend. Another round of light snow is possible Monday.
