Light snow will continue to linger through the evening hours. Area roads may still be slick in spots heading into Thursday day morning. A cold front sweeping through will turn the winds to the northwest late on this evening. This is going to bring in some colder air. The air won’t be significantly colder but it will be colder. Highs on Thursday will likely stay in the upper teens and lower 20s.

Cooler northerly flow will also result in lake effect snow along the south shore. Some areas from the Bayfield Peninsula and east through the U.P. of Michigan may see a few quick inches of new snow. By Friday, a ridge of warmer air begins to slide in and the temperatures are to rise. Friday will likely be only day this weekend where we see some sunshine.

Warm southerly winds take over Saturday and Sunday to bring in overcast skies but temperatures in the mid-30s by Sunday. A wintry mix is possible on Martin Luther King Day and then a changeover to all snow is possible by Tuesday.
