The Hershberger family is preparing to celebrate the life of their matriarch next weekend.

LaVonne Hershberger, 85, died in a fire at Northernaire Houseboats on Rainy Lake on August 24th.

One of Hershberger’s daughters, Vonnette, rushed back in to try and save her. She suffered critical injuries.

Vonnette’s brother, Joel, told us she is expected to fully recover. However, it will be a long road. The business remains closed.

They are grateful for the support of people in International Falls.

Joel described his mother as family oriented, who loved crafting. And she loved the Lord. “We were always loved,” he told us. “We were pretty poor financially, but extremely rich in family.”

LaVonne and her husband Norman had seven children.

A celebration of life will be held on September 10, 2022, at the Wanita Wilkie Farm. Inurnment will be a Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Condolences may be left on www.greenlarsen.com
