It was another day with areas of fog early, but sunshine is our main feature overall. Winds will be rather light and variable today, with a gentle lake breeze keeping temps in upper 60s immediately near Lake Superior. Highs otherwise range from mid-70s to low 80s for another warm day.

Skies will be mostly clear overnight with lows ranging from mid-50s to mid-60s as warmer air moves in from the southwest. Summery warmth then takes over tomorrow with widespread highs in the 80s. A cold front passes Thursday night, bringing the next widespread chance for showers and thunderstorms. Rain chances begin near the international border Thursday evening and track southeast toward the Twin Ports around midnight. Some storms may be strong with hail and gusty winds possible. Scattered showers linger Friday with highs dropping into the 60s. Widespread accumulation should range from .25″ to .75″ with amounts dropping off looking north toward International Falls and southeast toward Price County. Higher localized amounts are possible. The weekend will then be rather quiet and seasonable.
