Kids at the bus stop should be bundled up with a hat and gloves this morning, and you’ll want a few minutes to attend to a frosty windshield before hitting the road. A Freeze Warning is with us until 8 a.m. It will continue to a cool day under mostly sunny skies. Highs will be a few degrees warmer than yesterday in mid-50s to near 60. We’ll soon find relief from the cold with today being the coolest in the forecast.

High pressure is our main influencer today with clear skies and light winds. The high will begin to exit the region to the east through the day, allowing a south wind to develop and send warmer air back into the Northland. Tonight will still have patchy frost, especially for the Iron Range and from Hayward to Butternut, but it’ll be an improvement from this morning with lows ranging from low 30s to low 40s. Thursday then features a return to the 60s across the Northland with partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies. Seasonable conditions will then be with us through the weekend.

The forecast continues to be very dry. An isolated shower will try and reach across the region from west to east Thursday evening into early Friday morning, then a few showers may graze the international border Saturday. That’s about it for rain chances.
