Following a weekend with several rounds of rain, we’re settling into a quiet and dry stretch of weather this week. Last night’s round of rain has moved east early this morning with a deck of clouds lingering. A stray sprinkle is possible through the morning, but high pressure moving in from the west will allow sunshine to take over this afternoon. Highs return to the 70s across the Northland. Tonight features clear skies and lows ranging from upper 40s to upper 50s. A southwest wind kicks in on Tuesday to boost temps into the 80s with abundant sunshine.

A cold front sweeps the region from north to south Tuesday evening and overnight, but this front isn’t expected to produce much in the form of precipitation. A few showers and rumbles of thunder will be possible, particularly in far north central Minnesota. This weak front is then followed by yet another area of high pressure that will lock in sunshine through Friday.
