Enjoy the Northland 5K Run/Walk for Food Allergy

You can support folks living with food allergies at the 5K coming up on Saturday.

Another chance to support the food allergy folks, at their Northland 5K Run/Walk for Food Allergy.

It’s Saturday morning in Leif Erikson Park. A chip timed 5K starts at 8am. Then there’s the kids fun run at 9am.

This is organized by the ALEIA Project, a non-profit formed by three moms who are navigating food allergy journeys.

It’s their one fundraiser of the year, and helps them pay for Teacher Allergy Awareness Toolkits, free community ed classes, and other resources.

Emily Homan, president and co-founder, shared, “It’s really exciting and really fun to be able to talk to people in person. Hear their stories. And know we are providing community space for everyone.”

Another co-founder, Erica Hanson, added, “I think it’s fun for kids to meet other children who might have food allergies and live that lifestyle. My kids have met several friends who live in our area at this event.”

You can show up and sign up there, or do it online through 11:59pm Friday.
