Update: One person released from hospital following Rice Lake home explosion

UPDATE: The St. Louis County Sheriff’s office provided an update Friday on the house explosion that took place Thursday in Rice Lake. According to the office, “nothing concerning” has been revealed in the investigation of the explosion. The office also confirmed that Mandy Dallum has been released from the hospital. At this time, Jadin Dallum is still in the hospital with serious injuries.

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s office has confirmed a house explosion occurred in Rice Lake at the 3700 block of W. Tischer Rd on Thursday morning. The Sheriff’s office received the call at 11:11 a.m.

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s office reported that neighbors came to the scene after hearing an explosion. The neighbors discovered Jadin Dallum, 32, and Mandy Dallum, 31. Both parties were transported to a hospital in Duluth with “serious” injuries.

Three children were known to reside at the residence but were safely located at school.

Two people were injured in the explosion on November 2.

No other injuries have been reported at this time.

The office stated that when authorities arrived to the scene, the home was fully engulfed

The cause of the explosion and fire remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and the State Fire Marshals Office.

Early information indicates the furnace was being repaired at the time of the incident.
