68th Annual Last Chance Bonspiel wraps up the season at the Hibbing Curling Club

The 68th annual was another successful Last Chance bonspiel on the books for the Hibbing Curling Club.

Another successful Last Chance bonspiel is on the books for the Hibbing Curling Club.

The 68th annual event finished on Sunday. 92 teams from both the coasts and Canada, along with plenty from the Northland, came together to play in the final spiel of the season.

Teams play between the arena and the regular curling club. The John Shuster rink won the main event.

Club President Tony Wilson shared, “This bonspiel generates most of our operating revenue. It brings people into town, to the restaurants and bars and hotels. Those businesses partner with us. It’s a great event in late winter for Hibbing.”

This year, they awarded a lifetime membership to volunteer Denise Sampson, for all of her hard work helping put on the Last Chance for so many years.

There was also the Senior Last Chance that started Monday.
