Entering his third year with the Vikings, and in the NFL, wide receiver K.J. Osborn is already making a splash in training camp. Now in week two he’s been busy showcasing his route running, good hands, and speed in the slot in front of new offensive coordinator Wes Phillips.

“Everybody said I was too slow, they always said I was slow,” Osborn shared. “I didn’t get a lot of offers because I was slow. Nobody thought I was going to run 4.4 (40-yard dash) so now me and my dad, when we hear people talk about speed, we just kind of laugh. It’s just something I work on in the offseason.”

Before day six of training camp at the TCO Performance Center in Eagan Phillips had this to say on Osborn: “he’ll surprise you and run by you as well. I mean he’s a 4.3 type guy who can really run as well. There’s a lot of things to like about K.J.”

A passer listed at 5-foot-11 and 203 pounds, Osborn is also proud of his duality to hold plays down in the blocking game.
