UWS softball drops NCAA DIII Regional opener to Central College

On Thursday the No. 4 University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) softball team fell 10-2 to No. 1 Central College in their NCAA DIII Regional tournament in Pella, Iowa.

Central College scored six runs in the first inning. Then UWS was able to respond in the third when Carly Stuckmayer came home off of an error. Trailing 8-1 in the fifth Larissa Snyder would cut into that deficit blasting out a solo home run.

However, UWS would fall short of earning their program’s first-ever NCAA tournament win. This is their sixth appearance in program history.

It’s not over yet. They will next face Bethel University in the elimination game Friday at 1:30 p.m. Winner stays alive and the loser goes home. For the full NCAA DIII softball bracket, Click here.
