The University of Wisconsin Superior (UWS) men’s soccer team is coming off a strange season.

From losing their first four games, too securing the No. 1 Seed in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) tournament, to the program’s fourth appearance in the NCAA tournament.

This season however for the staff and players is a fresh start and clean slate.

“Really this is a new team. We had a bit of success recently and we are excited about that. I think these guys however are really ready to shelf that for the time being. Just really treat this year kind of different,” said head coach Joe Mooney.

“I guess the biggest thing is just how close we are. There is not a lot of teams around that I have been a part of that are as close as this group of guys,” added senior Blake Perry.

The team has a week more of practice, before kick-off on their season opener next Thursday September 1st. Which will be on the road against Augsburg.
