University of Wisconsin-Superior’s Elise Besonen was named the UMAC player of the year after an incredible 2023-2024 campaign.

The sophomore was named the UMAC’s women’s basketball player of the year as well as being named to the first team. Besonen was made of iron this season, playing all 40 minutes in a game 13 separate times.

Besonen averaged just under 15 points per game, in addition to draining 52 three pointers with a 90 percent free throw percentage, good for 7th in Division III.
