UMD’s Matthew Thiessen takes home NCHC Goaltender of the Week award

UMD’s Matthew Thiessen put in work in goal this weekend, resulting in a win of the NCHC Goaltender of the Week award.

Against #11 Western Michigan, Thiessen tallied 74 saves, with 37 in each game.

Thiessen also posted a .925 save percentage and averaged just over three goals allowed in the high-scoring series.

It also marks the 4th time that a UMD goaltender has won the award this season, as Zach Stejskal has also been recognized.

UMD is back in action against Miami (Ohio) on Friday.
