UMD’s Gabbie Hughes, USA win Women’s Worlds Gold Medal against Canada

The United States Women’s Worlds Championship team beat Canada on Sunday 6-3, claiming the gold medal.

Hilary Knight became the first play in Women’s Worlds history to reach 100 points, as she recorded a Hattrick in the game.

Including the game winning goal on a two-player advantage with 3:10 left in the third period.

The U.S also had to come from behind on there separate occasions throughout the game. Trailing 1-0, 2-1, and 3-2 going into the third period.

With the win that marks the United States 10th gold medal in the WWC.
