NFL dreams are getting closer to a reality for University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) football alum Armani Carmickle.

UMD announced Wednesday that Carmickle received, and accepted, an invitation to Rookie Mini-Camp with the Minnesota Vikings.

There he will join fellow Bulldog alum tight end Zach Ojile who accepted an offer in April.

A fifth year wide receiver this fall Carmickle served as a captain for UMD. During that 2022 campaign he became just the sixth Bulldog in program history to surpass 2,000 yards receiving.

In 2021 he broke UMD’s single season record with 1,315 yards receiving.
