UMD men’s hockey wins exhibition match against St. Thomas

St. Thomas made a trip into town for an exhibition match-up against University Minnesota Duluth, as the Bulldogs looked to get back into the winning column.

The Bulldogs held on to a 14- 7 lead in the all-time series with the Tommies, although the two teams haven’t played in the last 60 seasons. The Bulldogs increased that lead to 15-7 as they won Saturday’s match-up 2-1.

St. Thomas Matthew Jennings scored the only goal for the Tommies towards the end of the first period.

Dominic James and Luke Mylymok scored both UMD’s goals in the second period. UMD will be looking to improve their overall record (8-10-0) on the road Friday as they face off against Bemidji state. Puck drops at 7:07 pm.
