UMD men’s hockey upends #11 Western Michigan

In the first game of a weekend series, the UMD men’s hockey team beat #11 Western Michigan 6-3.

In the second period with the game tied 1-1, Ben Steeves regained the lead on the power play.

In the third period, the Bulldogs would explode for four goals. Braden Fischer was first, followed by Blake Biondi, Kyler Kleven, and Jack Smith.

The Bulldogs were backed up by Matthew Thiessen, who made 37 saves.

The Bulldogs are back in action at 5 p.m. against Western Michigan on Saturday.
