Though he wasn’t able to play much of this past season for the Bulldogs, UMD men’s hockey players rallied around Dominic James all year, which is why he was named next years captain.

James missed all but the first two games this year after suffering a season-ending injury and undergoing shoulder surgery.

As a sophomore, James tallied 28 points in 35 games – the second most on the team.

Tied for the most assists with 18, James added 10 goals that year as well. James also contributed his freshman year as well – with 18 points for the Bulldogs, and was even drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 6th round of the NHL draft.

James was an alternate captain last year, but now gets to step up as the number one leader.
