UMD men’s hockey loses in physical battle against #20 Omaha

An all out brawl at the end of the 2nd period set the tone for the rest of the game, but UMD couldn't hold on to win.

Zach Stejskal was phenomenal for the UMD men’s hockey team on Saturday night, but his performance unfortunately wasn’t enough for the Bulldogs to come through, losing 1-0 to #20 Omaha in overtime.

The Bulldogs and Mavericks exchanged shots all game long, but a collision at the end of the second period was the tipping point, as the home crowd at AMSOIL Arena came to life.

Despite the energy from the crowd, neither team would score in regulation, and the game went to overtime. In overtime, it was Jack Randl who snuck one past Stejskal for the win.

The Bulldogs picked up four points this weekend despite the loss. They’ll try to rack up some more points in their next matchup against Miami Ohio next weekend.
