UMD men’s hockey lands 3rd in NCHC preseason poll

The preseason polls have been released for the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey team and they’ve been tabbed to finish third in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC).

The defending NCHC Frozen Faceoff champion Bulldogs tied for fourth in the conference last year. Denver University took the number one spot heading into the 2022-2023 season.

Denver – 180 points (19 first-place votes)
North Dakota – 160 (4)
Minnesota Duluth – 136
St. Cloud State – 115
Western Michigan – 86
Colorado College – 64
Omaha – 59
Miami – 28

UMD opens their season hosting Arizona State University October 1 and 2. They welcome 12 newcomers to the bench including 10 freshmen.
