UMD men's hockey names Connor McMenamin an alternate captain.

On Thursday the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey team named Connor McMenamin an alternate captain.

The announcement comes in the wake of alternate captain Dominic James’ season ending shoulder injury.

McMenamin is a graduate student transfer from Penn State where he spent the past two seasons as an alternate captain.

In five games so far at UMD the forward has recorded two goals and two assists.

He’ll sport the ‘A’ for the first time Friday night when UMD visits Cornell University.
