UMD men's basketball bounced from NCAA tournament after comeback falls short

The UMD men’s basketball team’s season came to a close on Sunday, as they fell to Northwest Missouri State 71-62.

It was a back and forth battle in the first half, with UMD facing an early deficit and storming all the way back to be down by just five at the half.

In the second half, the Bearcats would match everything the Bulldogs would do, and ultimately it came down to just a few plays that made all the difference in the outcome.

Drew Blair put up 21 points, but was only joined by one other Bulldog in double digits, as Austin Andrews added 14 of his own. The Bearcats had four players in double figures.

UMD’s season comes to a close as they finish with a 26-7 record overall.
