UMD men slip 9 spots, women fall one in USCHO national polls

Suffering back-to-back losses to a previously winless University of Wisconsin squad, the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey team has dropped nine spots in the national poll.

The Bulldogs (2-4) now sit 19th in the latest USCHO.com rankings, teetering on the brink of falling out of the top 20.

UMD will have a shot at redeeming themselves back at home this weekend hosting number 20 Cornell University Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m.

Bulldog women’s hockey has stayed in the top five slipping just one spot to number five in the poll.

While they suffered the weekend sweep to number one Ohio State University, they held the Buckeyes to a pair of 3-2 games, with game one taking overtime.

Now 6-2, UMD returns home this weekend to host number three Wisconsin Friday and Saturday at 3 p.m.
