UMD holds 24th annual Gear Swap

The weather is warming up which means more outdoor activities can commence. Allowing Northlanders to get a head start than at the 24th annual Outdoor Gear Swap hosted by the University of Minnesota Duluth Outdoor Educators Club at Maloski Stadium.

“The UMD Outdoor Gear Swap is an annual event where we have community members and UMD students, staff and faculty bring in their use outdoor gear to sell for really good prices. We have everything for every season summer, winter, spring, and fall. Lots of community involvement as always, and we always really appreciate community members bringing in their outdoor gear for the UMD community,” said Volunteer Coordinator Sarah Neshein.

People were encouraged to bring gently used outdoor gear, with sellers taking home 85% of the profit.

Fifteen percent of all the proceeds collected today will be used to promote outdoor education at UMD through scholarships and professional development opportunities.
