The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) football team rolled past Northern Michigan University 47-10 Thursday night to win their season opener at Malosky Stadium.

The Bulldogs scored three touchdowns in the first quarter, their first coming from redshirt sophomore quarterback Kyle Walljasper. He would finish the night with 12 completions for 80 passing yards and three touchdowns.

This marked the first time the two programs met since 1998. It’s also the first non-conference regular season game UMD has played since 2010.

UMD, now 1-0, will kickoff their road opener September 9 visiting Northern State University at 6 p.m. For their full schedule, Click Here.
