Two UWS men’s hockey defenders sign ECHL contracts

Two University of Wisconsin Superior (UWS) men’s hockey players just inked ECHL contracts.

Senior defensemen in Sam Sterne and Charles Martin have both signed deals.

Sterne signed a professional contract with the Indy Fuel.

Indy are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Chicago Blackhawks.

The senior also played a career-high 24 games this year, recording five assists which was also a career best.

Martin signed a contract with the Rapid City Rush, the affiliate of the NHL’s Calgary Flames.

This season he posted career highs in goals with three and 18 points.
