Transfer Portal: UMD’s Howard, Mylymok & Duluth East grad Donovan find new homes

He entered the transfer portal Thursday and now University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) freshman forward Isaac Howard has a new home.

The first round Tampa Bay Lightning NHL Draft pick Tweeted that he is joining Michigan State University men’s hockey. In one season at UMD he tallied six goals and 11 assists for 17 points in 35 games played.

The Bulldogs finished 16-20-1 this season in the first round of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) playoffs. Michigan State went 18-18-1 falling in round two of the Big Ten Conference tournament.

UMD junior forward Luke Mylymok has also entered the transfer portal.

He’s reportedly heading to Niagara University where he’ll be joined by his brother Connor Mylymok transferring from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks. In three seasons at UMD Mylymok scored six goals adding eight assists in 53 games.

Additionally, former Duluth East standout Ryder Donovan is transferring from the University of Wisconsin to the University of St. Thomas. The forward graduated from East in 2019 and tallied 12 points in three seasons with the Badgers. He was drafted by the Vegas Golden Knights in 2019.
