Superior shines as hosts of Lake Superior Conference track & field meet

A full fledged conference clash unfolded at the NBC Spartan Sports Complex Tuesday as Superior High School played host to the Lake Superior Conference track and field meet.

Athletes were battling competitors from eight teams as well as bustling, cold winds.

In the girls 100 meter Superior’s Lillian Gamache took first place with a time of 12.81 beating out her teammate Josephine Hanson by a tenth of a second coming in at 12.92.

In the boys 100 meter Superior’s Darrel James edged Cloquet’s Jordan Aultman taking first in 10.95 seconds. Aultman finished with a time of 11.14.

Next up was the boys 4×200 meter relay. Superior, anchored by Wyatt Tischler, claimed victory with a time of 1:37.80. His team consisted of Aiden Parks, Wyatt Mitchell, and Connor Krueger.

As teams, the Cloquet boys took first with 177 points while Superior finished second with 135. The Cloquet girls finished first with 170 points while Superior took second with 163. For full results, click here.
