On Monday the Superior Spartans girl’s soccer team held their first practice of the 2023 season.
The Spartans have had a rough go of it the past few years. Having not won a game in the last two seasons going a combined 0-25-3 in that span.
However they are looking to change that story and find the right method to start and get some traction in 2023.
“Tough couple of years, we’ve had a lot of success prior to that then moved to a different conference and kind of came on some hard times. Excited to get going with this group of girls, a lot of excitement in the beginning. Everybody’s excited and it’s going to be keeping that excitement up and create that winning mentality throughout the team,” said head coach Len Albrecht.
“Definitely having a winning mentality I think that’s important, coming off strong in the season. I mean, you can get down after the loss, but bouncing back after it is really important,” added senior defender Presley Kalin.
Superiors first game will be in less than a month when they take on Hayward for their home opener at 7:00 p.m. on April 4th.
