Superior girl's hockey blanked International Falls in lopsided victory

In a Saturday matchup in Superior, the Superior girl’s hockey team defeated International Falls 8-0.

The Spartans, who were lead by Autumn Cooper’s three goals and one assists, scored early and often, taking a 2-0 lead into the second period after Autumn Cooper and Aaliyah Haroldson’s goals.

In the second period, it was Cooper again who scored, followed by Gabryel Olson and Makaela Reinke to extend the Spartans lead to 5-0.

In the final frame, Adalyn Benson was the first Spartan to score, followed by Cooper with her third, and a goal from Kenlyn Thimm.

International Falls will continue the hunt for their first win against Fort Frances on Tuesday while Superior plays Rock Ridge on Tuesday.
