State Soccer: CEC boys semifinals bound, Cloquet-Carlton & Esko girls trips end

In the prep soccer state tournament quarterfinals Thursday, the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton (CEC) boy’s picked up a win to advance, while the Cloquet-Carlton and Esko girl’s teams saw their seasons come to a close.

Making their second straight state appearance, the third seeded CEC boys bested St. Cloud Tech 3-1 at Irondale High School. Elijah Aultman, Collin Young, and Jordan Aultman scored for they Lumberjacks.

They advance to face No. 2 DeLaSalle Tuesday, November 1 in the semifinals at U.S. Bank Stadium. Kick off is set for 2:30 p.m. For the full Class AA boy’s bracket, Click Here.

In Class AA girls action at Irondale Cloquet-Carlton, making their third state trip in four years, fell to undefeated No. 3 Mankato East 1-0. The Lumberjacks finish 15-4-1.

In Class A girls action at Edina, No. 5 Esko, in their first state tournament since 2011, fell to No. 4 St. Anthony Village 4-2. The Eskomos finish 15-3-1.
