Proctor volleyball is now under 24 hours away from their season opener. Last fall they finished as Section 7AA runners-up for the second straight tournament with a 15-6 overall record.

Graduating their setter and outside hitter, the Rails have been focused on filling their shoes during this preseason.

“We’ve had to readjust at take some steps back to rebuild this year,” head coach Trish Jauhola said. “But with the support that everyone is giving each other I think that we’re going to come out stronger than ever.”

For seniors, like captain Hope Carlson, the process has been about uplifting the newer players.

“Moving on from there and having those younger kids step up and showing them you can take on this position and you got this,” Carlson said.

Proctor opens their season Thursday at home hosting a Lake Superior Conference clash against Cloquet. First serve is set for 7pm.
