Friday morning a pair of Proctor Rails were honored for their collegiate commitments.

Maddy Walsh is going Division II, officially signing her National Letter of Intent (NLI) to play softball for the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) Bulldogs.

A pitcher, Walsh helped the Rails to a state championship appearance last spring posting a 0.82 era over 153 innings pitched. She also had 30 RBI in 88 at bats.

“Being here at Proctor, it’s really helped shape the kind of player I am today,” Walsh said. “Stepping into that leadership role on the mound, I think it will really help me for college.”

Also Friday Blake Imhoff signed his NLI to play baseball for the University of Minnesota Morris. He helped the Rails to the section finals last spring.

“We’ve had a lot of great coaches and they’ve helped me shape who I am, and who I am on the field and be more of a leader.”
