Fall sports are back in action, and Thursday kicked off the beginning of soccer schedule play for two Northland teams in Proctor and Duluth Denfeld.

In Duluth, the Duluth Denfeld Hunters suffered a 9-0 loss at the hands of the Mahtomedi Zephyrs. They will hit the field again on Saturday hosting Hill-Murray at noon.

The girl’s Hunter team also saw action hosting the Zimmerman Thunder. The Thunder got the game going in the first half, scoring two unanswered goals, as the Hunter fell 5-0. They will hit the field again on Saturday as Osseo comes to town for a 2 p.m. match.

Proctor welcomed the Class A Champions in the St. Anthony Huskies to open their season. The Huskies got on the board first with a rebound show from Meghan Przybilla to crack the game open. Przybilla also nabbed the Huskies second straight goal. The Rails finally got their chance and scored on the Huskies, but in the end, they fell at home 2-1. Proctor will have a chance to claim their first win on the season at home on Saturday when they face off against Esko.
