Prep hockey: Duluth Marshall girl’s overpowers, Duluth Denfeld boy’s falter late

In some prep hockey action on Saturday, Duluth Marshall girl’s hockey stifled Thief River Falls, winning 7-2, while Duluth Denfeld fell late to Alexandria Area, 3-2.

For Duluth Marshall, they were off to a strong start, as captain Ilsa Lindaman had a hat trick just in the first period with Sarah Stauber adding on of her own to make it 4-0 after the first period.

The Hilltoppers would go on to score three more to cap off their season, ending with a 21-3 record.

For Denfeld, after allowing a first period goal, the Hunters kicked back into gear, as Valtteri Luhtalampi and Bruno Decambaliza scored to give the Hunters the lead, however, the Hunters would surrender two more goals to fall.

Denfeld plays Grand Rapids on Tuesday.
