Packers Draft Day 2 Selections: TE Musgrave, WR Reed

On day two of the 2023 NFL Draft the Green Bay Packers used their first of two round two picks selecting Oregon State tight end Luke Musgrave 42nd overall.

Musgrave, a 6′6″ and 253 pound tight end, is the nephew of former Oregon and NFL quarterback Bill Musgrave. He caught 11 passes in two games last fall before his season was cut short by a knee injury.

The Packers then traded the 45th pick in the draft to Detroit, moving down three spots to No. 48 while also picking up the 159th overall pick (fifth round).

General Manager Brian Gutekunst traded the newly-acquired 48th pick to Tampa Bay, moving back two more spots to No. 50, while picking up the 179th overall pick (sixth round).

The Packers spent that 50th overall pick on Michigan State wide receiver Jayden Reed. The 5′11″ pass catcher could fit as a slot receiver and has punt return skills.
