Oliveira penalty kick goal lifts UWS men’s soccer past Augsburg

On Wednesday the University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) men’s soccer team defeated Augsburg University 1-0 to extend their unbeaten streak to five games. The Yellowjackets also snapped the Auggies five game winning streak.

After a scoreless first half Felipe Oliveira would score in the 67th minute on a penalty kick for the Yellowjackets awarding them the only goal of the match.

UWS keeper Alex Paredes recorded five saves, in comparison to the Auggies’ Oscar Herrera’s nine.

The Yellowjackets (4-1-2) return to Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) action Saturday hosting Bethany Lutheran College. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at the NBC Spartan Sports Complex.
