Northland women’s hockey tops UWS in WIAC first round

The No.5 Northland Lumberjills women’s hockey team beat the No.4 University of Wisconsin Superior with a 5-3 victory in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament first round game on Tuesday.

Maddy Bloedel lead the way in the 0-zone tallying three points with two goals and one assist.

Northland Goaltender Teagen Johnson stopped 65 of 67 shots on goal in the game, which was the first ever WIAC playoff victory in program history.

The Jills take on the No.1 seed UW-River Falls this Friday and Saturday in River Falls at 7:00pm.
