It may not feel like spring sports season yet, but today Northland track and field teams took off to the races in their season openers on Friday at Marcovich Wellness Center on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Superior.

In the first event the girl’s 4×800 meter relay, the race starts tight and 2 miles later, Emary Maki and the Hibbing bluejackets take home first place.

Next up was the boy’s 4×800 meter relay, and anchor Benjamin Meysembourg and Esko ran away with the win.

In section 2 of the girl’s 60-meter hurdles, Hermantown’s Elise Harriman soared to the finish line, while in section 1 of the boy’s 60-meter hurdles—Hibbing’s Dallas Swart crossed the finish line first.
