No. 4 Cherry boys basketball bests No. 5 Border West to advance to Class A state semifinals

The Cherry boys basketball team is bound for the Class A state semifinals for the second straight season. Wednesday the No. 4 Tigers downed No. 5 Border West 68-55 in the quarterfinals at Williams Arena in Minneapolis.

Cherry’s Noah Sundquist led the game with 30 points.

Border West is comprised of students from the communities of Wheaton, Herman-Norcross and Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley.

The Tigers improve to 27-4 on the season earning their 10th straight win. They advance to face No. 1 Russell-Tyler-Ruthton in the semifinals Friday at Noon at Target Center. For the bracket, Click Here.

Last season Cherry fell in the state semifinals, finishing their season in fourth place.
