No. 12 UMD women & men’s basketball sweep UMary

Ranked 12th in the nation, the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) women’s basketball team returned home to Romano for the first time since clinching the NSIC North Division title. The Bulldogs welcome the Marauders of University of Mary into town for a Friday night match-up.

The Marauders scored the first points of the game, then the Bulldogs made serval shoots and took the lead, winning in the end 72-52.

Bulldog’s Maesyn Thiesen led with 17 points, followed by Brooke Olson with 13 points. The Bulldogs (21-3) will look to close over their weekend homestand with a game against Minot State. Tip of is set for 5:30 p.m.

Earlier today the Bulldog and Marauder men tipped off with UMD entering with a 16-8 record

UMD lead the game from the start never looked back winning 83-63. Drew Blair led the team with 24 points and Jack Middleton followed behind with 19 points.

Bulldogs (17-8) will be back at home on Saturday taking on Minot State. Tip off is set for 3:30 pm.
