Last weekend the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) volleyball team won their first two Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) matches to improve to 10-0 overall thanks in-part to big performances by Madison Gordon.

Contributing 12 total digs over the weekend the redshirt senior setter would hit a major milestone of 500 career digs. Entering the season with 437 she’s been averaging 1.70 digs per-set to now add her name to the exclusive club.

“Hitting 500 digs is super exciting but I do have to say it all depends on my team’s block and the way that we play our defense” Gordon said. “Nice to have our block up there to funnel me those balls.”

Gordon and UMD will serve up their home opener at Romano Gym this Friday hosting Minnesota State University-Moorhead at 6 p.m.
