MacLeod earns WCHA Goaltender of the week thanks to stellar weekend

Hailey MacLeod named WCHA Goaltender of the week

Hailey MacLeod was named the WCHA Goaltender of the week on Monday.

Going up against the number two team in the country, Hailey MacLeod was tasked with stopping the Colgate Raiders offensive attack and keeping the UMD women’s hockey team in the game.

Fast forward to Monday, and Macleod is the WCHA Goaltender of the Week.

#2 Colgate came in averaging five goals a game, and Macleod allowed just one goal all weekend, coming in the final minute of Saturday’s contest. The Sophomore was lights out this weekend, making 66 saves on 67 shots that came her way.

Not only has MacLeod been one of the best goalies in the WCHA, but MacLeod also leads the NCAA in save percentage and is second in average goals allowed per game.

With the win and tie this weekend, MacLeod and the Bulldogs have moved to 6th in the country, and will travel to Madison, Wisconsin next weekend to take on #2 Wisconsin.
