They have yet to play a single game at home but the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) softball is still finding spring success. They currently boast a 21-6 record and now a national player of the week.

It was announced Tuesday that junior Lauren Dixon has been named Division II National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Pitcher of the Week.

She’s the first-ever Bulldog pitcher to earn the honor, and the fourth overall UMD player to nab a DII NFCA award.

In 22 innings pitched last week she threw 45 strikeouts to go 3-0.
