Soon prep volleyball will be in full swing and over in Esko, the team is looking to bounce back from last season. They got to the Section 7AA championship falling to Rush City 3-2. With a new season underway, comes a new motivation and focus on growing from the pros and cons of last year.

“It’s kind of the errors that we made right in that game and in general here is that we didn’t really think about that cost us so much. Just reducing the errors that we had, being a little bit better passing, not necessarily looking for our perfect passes, but just not getting aced as much as we did,” said third year head coach Pete Stasiuk.

Esko graduated a large number of seniors which could leave a lot of empty spots to fill. Senior Kyra Johnson shared how those shoes can and will be laced back up and maybe even up to a higher level.

“It’s going to be hard. We lost a lot of our starters and a lot of seniors last year and we have a lot of new people coming in this year that can fully fill their spots and maybe even taken it up a notch more where we can go all the way this year.”

The Esko volleyball team opens their season at home on Tuesday, August 29th hosting Hermantown at 7 p.m.
